Zero Tolerance Zone: Say NO to Ragging

Our institution maintains a Strict Zero-Tolerance Policy towards ragging. We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and friendly environment for all students, especially newcomers. Ragging is a criminal offense as per the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations.


What is Ragging?

Ragging constitutes one or more of any of the following acts:

  • Any conduct by any student whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating, or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.

  • Indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities which cause or are likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm.

  • Asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, torment, or embarrassment.

Punishments for Ragging

Abetting or participating in ragging can lead to:

  1. Expulsion from the college.

  2. Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.

  3. Fine up to ₹2,50,000.

  4. Cancellation of admission.

  5. Rigorous Imprisonment (as per law).
