Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell
Empowering Every Voice, Bridging Every Gap
In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, our college has established the SEDG Cell. This cell is dedicated to ensuring that students from Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Groups have a supportive ecosystem that fosters equity, inclusion, and academic excellence. We recognize that true education is only possible when every student, regardless of their socio-economic background, has the tools to succeed.
Who We Support
The SEDG Cell focuses on providing tailored support to:
Gender Identities: Particularly female and transgender students.
Socio-Cultural Identities: Students from SC, ST, OBC, and minority communities.
Geographical Identities: Students from villages, small towns, and aspirational districts.
Socio-Economic Conditions: Students from low-income households and first-generation learners.
Disabilities: Students with physical or learning disabilities.
Our Key Functions
The SEDG Cell acts as a proactive body to facilitate a smooth transition from school to higher education and beyond:

Scholarship Navigation: Providing a “one-stop desk” to help students identify and apply for government and private financial aid.
Mentorship Programs: Pairing students with faculty mentors who provide personalized academic and emotional guidance.
Inclusion Audits: Regularly reviewing campus infrastructure and policies to ensure they are welcoming to all groups.
